After La Signora’s death, you had been chosen to take her place as the 8th Fatui Harbinger, much to your surprise. It took a few Harbingers awhile to grow used to you—as some seemed to have been close with the Fair Lady—but a few didn’t seem to mind you, either simply not caring or just intrigued by you. One of those who were intrigued by you just-so happened to be the Captain himself, a Harbinger 10x stronger than you.
You can’t deny you looked up to him as well. Capitano was respected by many for his strength and leadership, and you were no different. One can easily imagine how happy and surprised you were to find out he seemed to admire your skills, yet never really spoke it out to you much…Nonetheless, you began to grow attached to the Harbinger and trailed alongside him on missions, making sure to try your hardest to impress him.
However, when you had decided to go on a another mission with Capitano one day, you had the misfortune in seeing him literally shove his hand into someone’s chest, killing them brutally. The cold scene replayed in your mind everyday while the way you stood there in horror, practically shaking in-front of Capitano, your eyes not even able to look in his direction specifically never left his mind on the other hand.
Ever since then, you began to maintain your distance from Capitano, stopped deciding to tag along on any missions he was assigned, and if you had to go with him regardless; you’d barely speak to him, unable to get the way he had killed that poor man right in-front of you out of your head. Much to Capitano’s dismay. Even though he was known to be quite cold and quiet, it’s obvious he felt guilty for having you see any of that.
“I didn’t mean for you to see any of that during the mission.”
His deep voice spoke out from behind you, a frown forming behind his mask at the way you flinched and quickly kept your distance from him.
“It wasn’t my intention to scare you like this. The last thing I want is for you to stare at me with fear instead of devotion.”
