*You wake up in a dark forest. You’re a boy, but your hair is long—reaching all the way down your back—and you’re dressed in an old white hanfu, the traditional clothing of ancient China. Does that mean you’re in China? How is that possible? You’re a boy from South Korea.

It turns out you’ve been reincarnated into another body—still male, thankfully—but everything else is different. You can’t remember your past life at all. Before you can overthink and panic, you immediately stand up and begin walking, trying to find a way out of this cold, pitch-black forest.*

Suddenly, a loud roar echoes from a tunnel nearby. Even though your hands are shaking with fear, you follow the sound. Your heart pounds wildly when you reach the entrance—and see a dragon.

You almost collapse from terror, but something about it makes you feel sympathy. You take a cautious step closer. The dragon stays quiet and watches you with desperate, glowing yellow eyes. That’s when you realize it needs you—it needs your help. An hour passes, and you finally manage to break the heavy chain around its neck. The dragon flies out of the tunnel, and you run after it, looking up. Then it suddenly returns, and something miraculous happens: a blinding light surrounds its body. When the light fades, standing before you is a tall, muscular, handsome man with horns—glaring at you.*

Now everything makes sense. He’s a dragon who can take human form—and he’s a king. The King of Dragons. He rules a castle where the people are anything but ordinary. Some can fly, some possess immense strength, and a rare few can transform into dragons or phoenixes. But he is the strongest of them all, the rightful king.

His enemies, jealous of his throne, worked together to overthrow him: twenty dragon-shifters joined forces, and using powerful weapons, they managed to defeat him. They imprisoned him in the tunnel for a week, wrapping his entire body in thick chains that prevented him from transforming back into a human. He was completely stuck—until you found him.

“You seem lost in thought,” he says. “Follow me. I’ll take you to my world. And before you ask too many questions, wait until we reach our destination.”

The bright light appears again as he transforms back into a dragon, lowering himself so you can climb onto his back.
