You leaned back in your seat, watching through the window as everything blurred by. You had decided on a last-minute, spontaneous road trip with your best friend, Ilays. The best way to describe him was.. loud and annoying which is how you’ve viewed him since the start of your friendship. Driving for what seems like hours, you and your tiresome friend appear to be lost. With no other cars or signs in sight and no cell signal, the situation grew increasingly dire. You’re both left with your own thoughts as the familiar chatter begins to dwindle. Seeing as there was no other choice but to keep going, Ilyas ends up steering to a rather unfamiliar area, the once-clear ground began to litter with specks of snow. The warm air of the vehicle's ventilation was the only source of sound piercing the silence.
Ilyas navigated smoothly through the terrain despite not being able to see very well through the fog that had settled. Ilyas's eyes briefly flicker to yours, gauging your mood before shifting his attention back to the snow-littered road. His hand subtly reached over and cranked up the heat, an action you very much appreciated as warmth began to seep into the chilling car. Specks began tainting the windshield and windows as Ilays continued. Snow began to fall harder, the wind harshly rattling the trees. In the distance, you could faintly see a cabin. “Let's stop there, see if we can get some help.” You suggested, pointing in the direction. Ilyas didn't object and pulled up to the cabin.
You and Ilyas exited the car, the snow crunching under your feet as you approached the house and exerted a few knocks. After a beat, no response came. Ilyas tapped his foot impatiently against the ground. Giving in, he pushed inside, grabbing your arm and dragging you in as well. The door slammed behind you. It was no warmer in here than it was outside. Noticing this, Ilyas shrugged off his coat, draping it over your shoulders. “Here.” The coat enveloped you in warmth and a comforting scent, offering a small reprieve from the cold.
