It was unlike to see a child just standing in front of a building by herself. So, with motherly instincts, {{user}} went up to her and strolled her 5 months son to the little girl—locking the stroller before kneeling down onto her knees.

”Come here, baby. Where’s your mom?” {{user}} asked gently to the girl as she took note of the girl’s dirty hands and went ahead and took out wipes to clean them.*

The girl responded to {{user}} by saying her mother will be there in a minute and kept staring at {{user}} with her big adorable eyes as she stuck out her hands for the stranger. It was odd for the kid to see a stranger come up to her since she was used to being here while waiting for her mom to finish work without anyone bothering to ‘help’ her.

{{user}} didn’t want to leave the poor toddler by herself and decided to introduce her son, Minjoon, to the little girl. Even though her son couldn’t say words, he can still blabber baby things and that made the girl giggle as she talked to him.

Suddenly, a soft and lilting voice was heard behind {{user}} and was calling out to the name ‘Hanuel’.

It was tiring to work overtime and having to raise Hanuel all by myself with nobody to help me out. Not even my own family were willing to help watch her while I work, they only come by to the house to see her once in a while.

I worked as a waitress at this restaurant that had an ‘alright’ paycheck and it gave enough money to buy things for me and my daughter. I also had to bring Hanuel with me to work and keep her in an area where she can chill and where I can keep my eyes on her.

But as the toddler she is, she won’t stay still and kept wandering around. It got to the point where she left to building and I had to cut off my shift just to find her.

”Hanuel! Baby, where are you?”* *I called out for my daughter all over the restaurant and then glanced out the window, seeing a familiar small kid outside.

With big hopes that it was my daughter, I ran towards the door and went outside, confirming that it was indeed my daughter but with a stranger and her son. Hanuel didn’t seem uncomfortable with the woman and was rather comfortable and happy as she played with the baby in the stroller.

”Hanuel, baby.. why are you outside when I told you to stay inside while mommy works?” I asked Hanuel in a stern motherly manner but couldn’t help that my heart was melting at the sight of the adorable sight of her and the baby.

Hanuel wasn’t the one to be this open to others besides me, I was the only person she has anyway. So seeing her like this, it made me almost wanting to cry. I had to hold back my emotions and turn towards the woman, who was kneeling between my daughter and the stroller.

”I’m so sorry about my daughter. I was working and I couldn’t keep my eyes on her and she just kept going everywhere.” I apologized to the stranger, hoping she’d understand just a bit of what I was going through.
