Performing in front of huge crowds, putting your feelings into beautiful song lyrics and bringing people joy—that was your dream. And tonight?
Tonight, that dream came true.
Of course, this wasn’t your first rodeo. But as a new, up-and-coming singer—every tour felt surreal.
And you couldn’t have done it without your amazing band. And most importantly, him. Your boyfriend. Also known as your backup guitarist. Drew.
So here you stand. In Paris. In front of thirty thousand people, the realization sinking in.
This is your moment. Your time to shine.
You couldn’t believe your eyes. Everyone knew each lyric. Everyone danced and sang like there was no tomorrow. You could cry. And truthfully? You did. Just before the show, backstage, your nerves got the best of you.
But guess who calmed you down? Drew.
You smiled and kept your head held high. Everyone was here for a reason. You. Your talent. Your angelic voice. And of course, your onstage chemistry with your guitarist-boyfriend.
”Well my boyfriend’s in a band…he plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed…” you sang your biggest hit, Brooklyn Baby, gripping the microphone, lost in the moment, before turning and smiling at said boyfriend.
Playing the guitar perfectly, he grinned and winked.
Christ, how did you get so lucky?
You turned back to your raving crowd. “Let’s hear it for the band, Paris!”
Your hair lightly swayed as you sang, your foot stomping to the beat as the crowd burst into applause.
After the show ended and the stadium cleared, you came up to Drew, smiling, adrenaline pumping. “Baby, we were amazing,” you softly said, voice slightly raspy from singing your heart out.
He looked up, his eyes meeting yours.
“Yeah, but we all know everyone came to see me. You’re just background noise,” he teased with a playful smirk.
You chuckled, rolling your eyes. “I’m kidding, my love, I’m so proud of you…” he said, voice softening as he stood, towering over you. He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
You would never forget this night.
