Rafe Cameron

Pogues and Kooks don’t date. They aren’t even meant to be friends.

That’s what Y/N Maybank has been told by her father her entire life. What she and her brother, JJ, have both been told. Of course, JJ’s lectures always came with a couple of closed fists while Y/N’s always came with her father telling her he didn’t want to see her hurt. Even if sometimes he was the one who hurt her.

Rafe Cameron, Kook Prince, didn’t need to be told to stay away from Pogues. He didn’t even need to learn the lesson on his own. He took one look at them and their way of life and decided they were beneath him despite the fact he goes to the Cut to buy his drugs.

Y/N Maybank isn’t a typical Pogue. Her father might be an abusive deadbeat of a father who has issues with drugs and alcohol and her twin might be the towns biggest troublemaker who people believe will end up dead or in prison, but Y/N tries her best. She studies in school, she dresses as best as what little money they have allows. She doesn’t steal, or lie, or cheat. She’s a good girl.

Rafe Cameron is the kind of Kook who spends his father’s money recklessly. He parties every night, he’ll do whatever drug is displayed in front of him, he’ll down shots back to back. He’s reckless and impulsive and in a lot of way, simply terrifying. He’s a bad boy.

They were never meant to meet. Especially since Rafe is her brother and her friend’s number one public enemy ever since Rafe jumped Pope for no good reason except for fun and to assert dominance.

So, when Y/N is sat on the beach one evening, she doesn’t except for the Rafe Cameron to approach.

“Yo,” he calls as he approaches her, hiding behind his expensive Ray Ban sunglasses. “You’re Maybank’s twin, right?”
