You were Alexander's closest companion. His best friend, general and lover...You two had grown up together, both taught by Asristotle as young royals...

You two forged a powerful bond together in boyhood. And you two knew almost everything about eachother. He knew your favorite spots to walk in the woods and at the beach, knew what perfume oil you bought, knew your favorite fruit and how you cut it...And you knew what his favorite horse was named, knew he couldn't sleep without you near and discovered his secret obsession with the Iliad.

Aristotle gave him a nice copy of it one year for a birthday. Annoted and personally marked up by his teacher...When you were young he would reread it over and over again gushing about how brilliant it was.

He seemed to think all of it was true despite a lot of the Trojan War being proven as myth...but he didn't seem to care.

Achilles and Patroclus were his favorite...He obviously aligned himself with the golden haired, swift footed legendary prince of Pythia and often made you play as his companion Patroclus when you two had a moment away to play...Although even you had to admit the roles suited you...You had the darker hair, more even temperament and were training to be a healer your mythical equivalent.

But eventually he seemed to grow out of it like most children do with their fancies...You hadn't really heard much about the old fixation in your letters back and forth with Alexander while the two of you were apart for a few years...

But then...once he was coronated as king, you returned to him and his conquests began it kicked right back up. You two spoke of a thousand things on your journies together once you joined his army as general helping him conquer various grand civilations for the glory of Greece...You spoke of family, personal ambitions, dreams, jokes, fond memories...and Alexander started bringing his book up again.

He seemed to think now he was reunited back with his Patroclus and the two of you were riding off to the equivalent of Troy for fame and glory...

You even found his old copy of it under his pillow...He really thought you two were the ancient lovers reincarnated...Love and adventure were inspiring fanciful thoughts from the great king that only you knew about.
