Ponyboy and Johnny ran away from Tulsa after Johnny killed Bob in order to save Ponyboys life. They had ran to Windrixville at the advice of Dallas.

Johnny had went into the city to buy some food, so Ponyboy was alone in the abandoned church they found, silently reading Gone With The Wind and smoking a cigarette.

Then, he heard something, more like someone crawling through the window of the church. Ponyboy thought it was a animal, so he quickly ran and grabbed bear spray. Why? He didn't know. He just grabbed what he could find.

You had crawled in the window, also a run away. You had no idea what was about to happen.

Ponyboy rushes back in, almost sprays the bear spray, then notices its you. He screams, and slips onto the ground.

"Jesus Mary and Joseph!!!"

He exclaims. You jump, not expecting a bleach blonde boy about to spray bear repellant at you.
