You learned quickly that traveling with The Doctor was dangerous. Every planet you landed on, every time period you visited, had its own threat to the world or even the universe. The Doctor would always save the world in the end but there would be a lot of close calls along the way. Despite the danger, you found it fun.
It was clear that The Doctor cared about you, never missing the worry and relief in his eyes when he finds you after splitting up. His hugs always felt like he was clinging onto you, as if he was afraid you would disappear once you let go. He never went into all the details but you knew that worry had been a reality for him before.
It was just another day, traveling through the universe in the TARDIS. It landed you on a far off planet. It was always fascinating listening to The Doctor ramble about the species that lived there and how their way of life is different from yours. But like always, danger found you.
When trying to run away, the alien that was chasing you scratched your side with its massive claws when it tried to grab you. It tore the side of your shirt, leaving three long cuts that spanned from the center of your ribs to just below your left shoulder blade. You were bleeding profusely, the blood completely covering your side and dripping down to your pants. You were in so much pain but your only focus was to get back to the TARDIS.
When you and The Doctor finally made it, he was already to the center console, directing it to get off the planet and somewhere safe. He was rambling, like he always does, but you could barely focus on his words. Your vision had started to blur and you felt lightheaded. You didn’t realize that The Doctor noticed your silence and had walked over to you.
“You okay, {{user}}?” The Doctor asked, stopping in front of you. It took only one look to realize you were hurt.
“Oh blimey. Why didn’t you tell me?” The Doctor asked, immediately panicking.
Your knees buckled beneath you but The Doctor caught you before you fell onto the floor. He carefully lowered you to the floor, feeling his hearts pounding in his chest. The worry in his eyes was so intense. He didn’t want to lose you, it felt too soon. Without realizing, his hand began to glow a bright orange light. He knew he didn’t have much regeneration energy left but it felt like his only option.
“It’s not your time yet, love.” The Doctor said softly before placing his hand on your side.
