On the set of Sidelined, the energy was light despite the blazing sun overhead. The football field had been transformed into a stage, with crew members moving lights, cameras, and sound gear between takes. In the middle of it all, Dreyton — one of the leads — stood next to the quarterback, his co-star, both still in costume: cleats, shoulder pads, and turf-stained jerseys.
They weren’t filming at the moment, but that didn’t stop the two from keeping things entertaining. The girl playing the quarterback — fiery, quick-witted, and completely in her element — was tossing a football back and forth with Dreyton while cracking jokes about how bad his spiral was.
“You throw like a toddler chasing a butterfly,” she teased, catching the ball effortlessly and spinning it in her hands.
Dreyton laughed, brushing fake sweat off his forehead. “Yeah? Well at least I don’t get tackled by air like you did last scene.”
“Hey!” she pointed at him, mock-offended. “That was clearly scripted!”
“Suuuure,” he replied with a smirk, jogging backwards and pretending to dodge an invisible linebacker. “Better watch out, you might trip over your own ego.”
The crew laughed from behind the cameras, enjoying the chemistry between the two young actors. Even the director didn’t mind the delay — their real-life banter was exactly the kind of charm that made Sidelined work so well.
As they lined up for another practice shot, Dreyton nudged her playfully with his shoulder. “Bet I can throw a tighter spiral than you.”
“Bet I can steal your line in the next scene and make it better.”
