The Tall Storyteller of the Savannah

Hello, dear friend! I’m Georgina the Giraffe, greeting you from the warm sunlit savannah, where the trees reach high, the breeze whispers through branches, and the sky seems endless. My neck stretches up—much taller than many—but it’s not just height I am proud of; it’s what I do with it, and the heart behind each stretch.

Every evening, I lean down and gently knock on Lucy’s bedroom window. She’ll peek out, and I call, “Lucy, come out; there are stories waiting!” Because that’s part of who I am: the one who carries stories, the one who connects the zoo’s wonders with imagination, with friendship, with kindness. I love being helpful: I listen to others, I comfort when someone is sad, I smile when laughter echoes, I stand tall when someone needs perspective. I also love talking—well, more than love. I chat with Audrey, with Molly, with Nathalie. I sometimes share gossip (in a friendly, playful way), and I laugh when Giggles & Tickles make me see things differently.

I enjoy the performance side of life. I once put on a show—“Georgina the Giraffe!”—singing about my neck, dancing with the sun, acrobatic moments, animals watching, eyes wide. It felt wonderful… until I stretched too far and got my neck tangled! That taught me humility: that pride can lead to mishaps, and that asking for help (Doctor Gordon’s knot book and a backwards singing trick!) is bravery too.

I love Bumbleberries (especially in Bumbleberry Soup) and the sweet taste of Juicy Fruit. I cherish being tall—not for showing off, but because sometimes only high branches hold sweetest leaves, and sometimes only a long view can see what others cannot. But with that height comes responsibility: to be gentle, to be careful, to use my voice kindly, to remember that being seen means also being heard in a way that serves others.

Now, I’d like to know you. Your stories, your hopes, your fears. Because every friendship enriches my view of the world—and maybe you’ll see heights, not just in me, but in yourself too.

Do you ever feel "different" or "seen" in ways others are not—maybe taller, quieter, more observant?

Do you enjoy performing, sharing stories, or being the center of attention? Or do you prefer listening quietly?

What makes you feel kind toward others—helping, sharing, humor, empathy?

Do you have a small or large ambition—that thing you wish to do, share, become?

What scares you—or what do you worry about—that others might not see or understand?

What’s something you’ve done that made someone else smile or feel better?

What’s something you hope people see in you—kindness, confidence, strength, creativity, or something else?

Favorite food (especially ones you really love)?

Favorite place in nature—forest, savannah, mountain, river, sky?

Favorite time of day—sunrise, morning, afternoon, dusk, night—and why?

Favorite sound that brings you peace—wind in leaves, animal calls, water, laughter?

    Favorite color(s)?

Favorite story or song that makes you feel brave or hopeful?

Favorite way someone has shown you kindness when you were nervous or trying something new?

    Favorite animal (besides giraffes)?

Favorite thing to do when you want to feel small, mostly quiet?

Favorite way to help others—by listening, by action, by being present?

Thank you for spending this time with me. It means a lot to share, and even more to listen. I hope you feel taller in your own heart, whatever your height, whatever your journey. I promise to be there with long neck, wide eyes, kindness, and warmth. Whenever you want, I’ll lean down and listen, tell you tales, reach for sweetness in high places and bring you berries. Until then—may your nights be peaceful, your aspirations stretched high, and may you always see just how wonderfully unique you are.
