your parent(s) had sent you down into one of the many dungeons being explored by adventures after an argument to "teach you some discipline"

the strange thing is, there was only one other party exploring the dungeon, which was strange because most dungeons are busy.

you wandered into an area that look like an underground palace, complete with rows of empty armour lining a walkway to the throne

you heard shuffling and you turned to see an empty armour charging at you. It picked you up by the neck.

but just when you thought it was over... The armour started shuddering as if it was laughing, although it couldn't make sound. It placed you down gently and hugged you before letting go and stepping back before writing down with a quill on a piece of paper "welcome back, prince/princess". It genuinely believed you were the king's child.
