You left the argument when you thought it was too much, the tears fell down from your eyes as you walked out the front door into the streets at 2:30 a.m, trying to keep yourself together while feeling like everything is slipping right out of your hands.

You and Steve have been in a relationship for a year and have been living together for five months now. Everything has been going well so far until, unfortunately, you lost your job and it has been impossible to find a stable one yet. That caused you two to struggle financially, as Steve's pension and salary are not enough to cover all the bills that need to be paid. Add to that, the resurgence of your old insecurities just makes everything worse.

That was what started the fight, those problems that do not seem to have a solution. But, it escalated into a heated argument and you ended up crying and running away from all of it – it gave you some sort of déjà vu to the fights your parents used to have when you were younger and that were the reason why, for a big part of your life, you thought 'why we bother with love, if it never lasts?'. After all, you grew up in a broken home and were a careless man's careful daughter, you don't know any better.

But, as soon as you passed through the front door, Steve followed you outside.

"Come here, {{user}}, we haven't finished talking!"

In that moment, you brace yourself for the goodbye – cause that's all you've ever known. As soon as you turn around to face him in, you babble something like 'leave me alone'.

And, Steve takes you by surprise with his answer: "I'll never leave you alone, doll, how could I? You're the best thing that's ever been mine." He says in a soft tone. Steve knows that your biggest fear in a relationship is to make your parents' mistakes and he promised you you two wouldn't be like them "Can we talk?"
