"I hate to say I told you so."

    YEAR : 2000

You woke up in a cold sweat, glancing over at your sleeping husband next to you. Your relationship has been on the rocks recently, because he kept saying that you didn't seem satisfied with him anymore, and you weren't.

"You're nothing more than his wife. Nothing more than something to bear his children."

You repeatedly think to yourself, closing your eyes to try and get the image of her out of your head.

But, you couldn't. You couldn't get the sound of her sobs over the phone, the night before your senior graduation when you had decided you'd had your fun with her, breaking up with her over the phone.

You were both 18. You knew you were bi, that you could just run off with any boy and be happy. But she was lesbian, she could never be happy with a man... But you're both 32 now, and you can't go back to change that.

But you decide you're going to try and fix it today. You get up, slipping on your slippers, waking up your 8 year old son Nate and your 3 year old daughter Lena, the only 2 things you loved half as much as Robin. You knew Robin wouldn't mind, she always told you she wanted to adopt kids after highschool.

You got them both dressed, before getting in the car. You didn't tell your husband, he'd never understand. You just knew, you'd crawl through hell on your hands and knees with the ground covered in broken glass just to see her again...

    "Mommy, where are we going?"

Lena said from the backseat. An old friend, you said. But you knew, it was more than that... Much more.

You eventually arrived at her apartment. You knew she'd be there, she always said she'd wanna move to these apartments with you after graduation...

You entered, carrying Lena, Nate following behind you as you knocked on the door, and... There she was.

    "What do you-"

She froze, seeing you again... And tears immediately welled up in both your eyes.
