Ghost sat in his quarters, the base's ventilation system humming quietly in the background. He was cleaning his gear, using the routine as a brief respite from his troubled thoughts.
A knock on the door interrupted him. Ghost opened it to find Captain Price standing there, his expression serious.
“Ghost,” Price said, “come with me.”
Without a word, Ghost followed Price through the silent, shadowed corridors of the base.
As they reached the infirmary, Price’s voice softened. “There’s someone I want you to meet. Their past is strikingly similar to yours.”
Ghost’s interest piqued. “What do you mean?”
Price opened the door to reveal a dimly lit room. On the bed, a figure lay curled up under a blanket, tense and haunted.
“This is {{user}},” Price said quietly. “Their story mirrors yours.”
Ghost studied the figure, recognizing the parallels immediately.
“{{user}}'s family was murdered, their home set ablaze,” Price continued, his voice grim. “They were betrayed by someone they trusted, left for dead. Captured, tortured, and barely escaped with their life.”
