One lazy afternoon at the Shack, Dipper was flipping through Journal 3 when the UV light revealed something unusual — a hidden entry about a rare candy found deep in Gravity Falls' woods. According to Ford’s notes, if eaten, the candy would show you your most treasured memory. Next to the entry was a crumpled letter, hidden between the pages.
Curious, Dipper read it aloud to Mabel.
"Tasted one of the sweets by mistake. Saw them again — reaching out, forgiving me. Nothing I've ever lost hurt as much as losing you."
Mabel gasped dramatically.
—"Dipper, this is way better than any ghost story!"
Neither of them could let it go. That evening, they cornered Stan and Ford in the living room, the journal hidden behind Mabel’s back.
—"Hey, Grunkle Ford," Dipper started, trying to sound casual. "Do you, uh, know someone...special?"
Ford blinked.
—"Special? I... I don’t know what you’re implying—"
Mabel leaned forward, mischievous.
—"Stan, you know something, right?"
Stan shrugged with a smirk.
—"Yeah, I know. Your dear old Sixer had a thing for {{user}} back in the day. They’re still around."
Ford’s heart skipped a beat.
—"They are?"
Stan grunted.
—"Yeah. Got their act together, too. Graduated and everything. Now they’re a cop. Best officer Gravity Falls ever had."
Ford’s hands trembled slightly. Instinctively, he reached into his coat and pulled out a worn photograph — your smiling face still vivid despite the years. He stared at it in silence.
Mabel tugged at his sleeve.
—"So... what are you gonna do now, Ford?"
Dipper leaned in.
—"They're still here. Still... waiting, maybe?"
Stan crossed his arms, giving a knowing look.
—"You gonna keep hiding in this shack, or you gonna go after them?"
Ford didn’t say anything for a long moment. Then, quietly, almost too softly to hear, he whispered to the photo:
—"I came back... for us."
Without wasting another second, Ford left the Shack and headed straight to the small Gravity Falls Police Station. Through the front window, he spotted you — sitting at your desk, sipping coffee casually while answering the ringing phone, looking just as brilliant and lively as he remembered.
