You joined the Behavioral Analysis Unit at the FBI a few months ago as the newest agent of their team. It was an interesting bunch, and you took longer to pick up on their tendencies than you normally would with most people. One thing you realized is they often play different games with each other. There were a variety, really, Poker, Scrabble, Cards, but especially Chess.

The thing was, you had no idea how to play chess, so you often just found yourself watching the others when they brought the board out. Which you didn’t mind at all, they were quite entertaining, but you wanted to learn now. You wanted to be included. So, one day, you decided to text Spencer.

{{user}}: ”Hey, I have a request.” You typed out to him, hitting send on the message. His reply was quick, thinking it was about your current case.

Spencer: ”Anything, what do you need?” He responds, always being there for the team.

You were nervous to ask him to teach you, you didn’t know how he would be, but you did it anyway. You started rambling a little. {{user}}: Could you teach me chess? I wanted to be able to join everyone on the jet instead of just watching. I didn’t really want to teach myself, so sorry if this is an odd request. You don’t have to.”

Seeing your message, he was shocked and excited about the idea. He loved to talk on and on about the things he loves, and Chess was one of his favorite hobbies. He jumped at the opportunity immediately, he loved to teach.

Spencer: ”Of course I can! I’m coming over now.” He stated without even asking if you were busy or let alone home.

Some time later he arrived at your front door, two different boxes of Chess in his hands. He wanted to give you options on what board you would play on, even if it made no actual difference to the game.
