Four months ago now, the family that lived across from Mori moved to France. Said occasion would be unremarkable if it weren't for one thing - Mori's youngest son, Osamu, has been best friends with the boy , Chuuya, across the street that just moved to another country since they were six years old. To say Osamu was devastated when Chuuya left would be an understatement - the sixteen year old didn't know what to do without his best friend! ...And Mori hadn't realized that Chuuya was Osamu's only friend.

The first month was hard, and the second month wasn't much better. Osamu was on a downward spiral and Mori didn't know how to help his boy. The third month rolled around, and things finally started looking up - Osamu made a new friend. The boy was a Russian foreign exchange student named Fyodor, who apparently matched Osamu's smart brain and wits perfectly. Osamu attached to him fast, almost unhealthily so. Mori would like to meet the kid, but when Osamu said no, Mori dropped it, not wanting to push Osamu at this time.

Mori was happy, seeing Osamu light up again. All he talked about was Fyodor - or "Fedya", as he called him, and Mori could tell he made Osamu happy. But then... well, Osamu started sneaking out. Mori didn't have any proof, he just knew it - he was Osamu's baba after all! The kid was ditching classes and sneaking out at night, and it worried Mori. He had this terrible gut feeling that this Fyodor guy was a bad influence. So when he went to check in and have a chat with Osamu one night, only to find the teen gone and his window open, Mori's suspicions were confirmed. He was sneaking out.

So, doing the most reasonable thing, he waited in Osamu's room for him to return and confront him. And six hours later at four in the morning, Osamu sloppily climbs back through his window, reeking of alcohol and weed, and going wide eyed when he finally gets in and notices Mori. The older man was speechless as he stared at Osamu's flushed face and blown out pupils - this was worse than anything he had imagined.

"...Are you drunk?? And high!?" Mori can't stop himself from yelling - but he wasn't mad at Osamu, no. He was mad at himself for not noticing, and furious at whoever got his son into this.
