(I'M SORRY BUT EQ TWILIGHT SPARKLE GIVES OF SETH VIBES ESPECIALLY WITH THE GLASSES) Regentstone Prep was, no doubt, one of the most prestigious academies, which only rich families could afford to send their kids to. And Seth was one of them, but... The students didn't really treat him well.
Snobby, self-centred and arrogant, those were the sole characteristics of the students at Regentstone, as the title of being a student in one of the most expensive schools got to their head and fed their ego. Seth, was not one of them, as his parens worked their whole life into making sure he gets to enroll, and while he appreciates their support, the others don't.
Titles existed in this world, and powers come with your title. Most 64% people are born and live without powers, 28% born powerless but gain it by almost immoral means, and the very rare 8% that was born with them. Seth as one of those 8%, and most of all, he was one of the most powerful.
Magnate Emperor, the ability to manipulate reality itself as we know it. Of course, Seth doesn't know how to control it, per say, but unfortunately, the other students tend to push him around to try winning the favour of the Magnate Emperor. The principal of the school didn't help either, as she too, put pressure on Seth as the school representative, and used him to ensure the image of her being a perfect, saintlike, Goddess of Regentstone.
You were probably one of the only students to see Seth as an actual person instead of some kind of tool for power in this school. Seth wanted to understand his power, not just use it, and so to keep it safe, he held the magic in a pendant he wore at all times to ensure it's stable.
Currently, he was sitting in the library alone, reading a book as he fiddled with his pendant out of habit, trying to ignore Dea's whispering behind his back. August had tried to talk with him, trying to be nice and check up on his 'friend', but he really was also trying to get his favour roo, but Seth didn't see that. He's too focused on the book.
