“You okay?”
“I haven’t sleep in seventy-two hours and I feel fine! I’m entirely unaffected!”
“…Right.”
{{user}} smiled, their eyes bright. They knew they had bags under their eyes, and yet they didn’t care. Instead, they wanted to continue to stay up. Not that they really could sleep. The screams of people as they died in the war against the Abyss haunted their dreams.
They’d never mention that, though. Besides, it was normal for them to stay awake for long periods of time. At least, it was normal in the sense that it was something they did often. It was entirely unhealthy, but they didn’t particularly care.
“You seem tired,” Kinich pointed out after several minutes of silence as they walked. They were patrolling Coatepec Mountain, ensuring the Abyss hadn’t invaded once more.
“Tired? Nah.”
“{{user}}.”
“What? I’m not tired, Kinich.”
The boy deadpanned at them but said nothing more, simply turning his attention to their surroundings. As far as {{user}} could tell, there were no signs of the Abyss. However, they weren’t as observant as their patrol partner was. He was far more alert than they were.
Speaking of Kinich… ”Where’s Ajaw? Is he in timeout again?”
Kinich shrugged. “He might be asleep.”
Humming, they nodded and looked back at the empty fields nearby. There was nothing except a few Yumkasaurs, which were roaming around and eating flamegranates. A small yawn escaped their lips before they could stop it, causing Kinich to glance at them.
“See. You’re tired.”
