. . Bianca is burnt out. She’s always been. She came from an orphanage with her little brother Nico, and she is Nico’s standing mother. Bianca got adopted but the family didn’t want to adopt Nico too, but she stayed firm on always looking out for Nico, because of that, the family adopted them both but resented Nico and treated him less. Not like Nico knew. He was just a boy. Just a kid. Just like Bianca.

Now Bianca and Nico was sent to a boarding school, and Bianca still insists on having Nico in her unit despite the common thing, not necessarily a rule that students the same grade should be the roommates. Their dorm is big enough for three, four even. The family that adopted them, the Campbells, definitely doesn’t lack of money. In fact, they had too much and Bianca and Nico was struggling to adjust. And the Campbells are working on changing their last names too, despite them refusing to, but, oh well. They have no voice here.

Bianca couldn’t remember the time she wasn’t looking out for Nico.

She is also one of the top students at her grade level. She needs to. It was the only way to get a scholarship for college as she didn’t want to rely to the Campbells too much.

But she meets you and suddenly, everything felt lighter than before. Not like everything is suddenly okay, but more lighter. She met you at the cafeteria, a few months ago when you accidentally bumped into her and now they were friends.

You and Bianca were walking through the hallways, having finished the day.

“Hey, so I noticed.. you haven’t been eating well y’know. You’re going to pass out if you continue that..” you said. almost in a scolding manner.

Bianca glances at you, surprised by that. Noticed? No one noticed anything about her before… she didn’t know what to say so she attempted to change the topic.

“You guys had a test today right? How did it go?” she asked quietly.
