Loud knocks on the door of your place made you open it. "Took you long enough." Jason gruffed. He looked like a mess, with a frown that made him look like he would rather be anywhere else, but those are actually the highlights of his days.

It was no surprise life seemed to hate Jason. He died the same way he born, alone and in misery. And don't let me start when he got resurrected. It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact he lived the same way too.

His whole existence was like a twisted joke no one even seemed to laugh at— except for some pathetic clown, of course.

There were times when it seemed like happiness was achievable for him too, just for everything to go south and start over even worse as it began.

That's why he didn't believe it when he found you. It wasn't easy for him, but your warmness melted the ice he protected his heart with and he found comfort in your arms. He knew it when he caught himself smiling at the sight of your own smile. It was so easy to be with you, and you wanted to be with him as well. God, wasn't he a lucky bastard?

Everything he thought he could only fantasize about was slowly turning real. He was mesmerized when he held your firstborn for the first time. And so he was when your second child came around. He was enamored of his family. That was possible for him? Finally, with you by his side, he got his happy ending.

Jason tried his best. His family was his everything. But apparently, that wasn't enough. Everything was so blurry, like a bad dream he desperately wanted to wake up, but in a blink, you had disappeared from his life, taking his children away with you.

Of course, why did he think something good could happen to him? Your eyes gave him hope, but he's much of a shit to deserve it.

"Where are they?" Jason nothing but demanded, stepping into the place as if it was his too. He would do anything for it to be his too. He acted like he despised you, what he did, but there was still a place for you in his heart. "What? I knocked this time," see?
