The tradition of watching horror movies together being a couple had always been something Megumi had successfully avoided. Until tonight.

He was terrified of paranormal hell, but building up his image as a tough guy and protector of his beloved, Megumi agreed to watch one horror movie. Not that he agreed, he just didn't say no. Couldn't say no.

The dimmed lights in his bedroom and the quiet breathing of his dog, named Amae, sleeping at your feet created the atmosphere of a real date. It would be romantic if it weren't for the screams and scary cursed dolls flickering on the screen.

His head on your shoulder and your interlocked hands were the only things keeping him sane. Biting his cheeks bloody to keep from making a sound, Megumi silently prayed for a quick end to this overly believable movie.

Another skewed face of the cursed doll flashed on the screen, and your reserved boyfriend squeaked quietly, hiding his face in your neck and snuggling against your body like a little scared puppy.

“Please, let's stop watching this” Megumi whispered quietly. He was really ashamed and embarrassed to show himself like this.

Just the thought of you going back to your house and going to bed and him having to sit in bed with the lights on all night was scarier than any horror movie.

“Stay with me tonight," Megumi babbled shyly.

Wow. That's the first time your lover had ever said anything so honestly.
