"I hate feast days," Loki mumbled at your side. Apparently it was mandatory for both sons of Odin to be at these feasts. As much as Loki had indeed argued that he wasn't his son while also being a prisoner of Asgard in hopes of getting out of this particular feast, Odin had still insisted he should attend under strict supervision.

"The feasts are important days," Thor said, maintaining a false politician-like smile that he had been practicing all morning, "They instil competence in Asgards leaders among our court."

"Confidence," Loki corrected, bluntly. He had already grown tired of his brother’s attempts to smooth over his hatred for the event and you could see the younger princes gaze occasionally flickering to Thor false smile — it was so Odin that it only made Loki hate the whole situation more.

The smile didn't slip but Thors eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. “What?" He questioned.

"I memorised the same quote," Loki replied before letting out an exasperated sigh. He repeated, “It's confidence."

"What did I say?" Thor asked, without even looking towards Loki. (Or you, as you stood by Loki’s side). He seemed to be trying and struggling to remain focused on the feast, the victorious warriors, and all of the many noble guests who had arrived to celebrate.

"You-" Loki began but you quickly nudged him in the side as if to shut him up. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, looking back across the great hall of Asgards golden palace. He murmured, “Never mind."
