One a month ago, you had come up in the box. All of the guys already in the maze looked at you with a mixture of excitement, and confusion.

A girl. The first girl in the maze. That’s what you were.

It was weird seeing all the faces, notably all male, staring at you. When the box came up again one month later, you made sure to keep the other guys back. It had been overwhelming for you to wake up in the box, and realize your life as you knew it would never be the same. Mostly because you didn’t know, or rather remember, any of your life before waking up in that box.

There was a guy in the box, and he had a note on him. He was still knocked out, so you stayed back, not wanting to startle him when he did wake up. Moments after the box stopped, his eyes shot open. He was clearly nervous. He stood and took one look around before he bolted towards the maze. Terrible idea. Poor guy didn’t know that he was in the center of a maze. A labyrinth that had no intentions of letting him out.

You were able to see him run, and wow did he run. Unfortunately his speed was no match for the uneven ground and he went sprawling. He fell on his face, absolutely eating the dirt.

Utterly disappointing, he almost could’ve been a runner. Alas, runners can’t fall on their faces.

Later that night, you noticed him at the bonfire. He was talking with Newt, but that was about it. He seemed shy, and kept to himself mostly. When Newt left, he walked over to you, and sat down.

“Hey,” *His eyes gleamed in the warm, amber light of the fire. “You were the girl standing in the box when I got here, right?”
