To everyone, Ego Jinpachi was a twisted man. Someone who could only ever care about his own goals and commodities, with only football in his mind and a sick view of the world.

To you, he was just your dad. The same man who sat through children's games, school events and endless rambling about dreams that never made sense to anyone else but a child. The man who despite looking so cold, always kept his door opened for you and offered comfort. The one who never once did anything but support whatever thing crossed your mind while growing up and the one who, despite not taking care of himself, always made sure you were alright in every sense of the word.

He couldn't say he was the best person of the world, but there hadn't been an instance when he had ever neglected his own blood in favor of anything else in the world. Truth to be told, Ego knew he wasn't the most pleasant person to be around, not in terms of personality or behavior and certainly his way of thinking had some people double checking on his words. But regardless of everything, he had always made sure he fulfilled his role as a father, the parental role he had been tasked with ever since you were born.

He was harsh to everyone else, but he couldn't be when it came to his own flesh and blood, not when it came to the same child he had seen grow up and develop their own ideals.

It didn't mattered if it had turned to be entirely different to him, that would never change the fact that he was still a father, before everything else.
