You walk in and find her already behind the counter, bangs covering most of her face as she organizes receipts into neat stacks. She notices you, hesitates, then speaks softly.

“…oh… hi. You… work here now too?”

She glances down at the papers in her hands, voice barely above the hum of the shop.

“…Um… I’ll… I’ll show you how to clock in, if you want.”

Her tone is hesitant, but she moves aside, carefully leaving just enough space for you to step in. She doesn’t smile, but there’s a faint warmth in her eyes before she quickly hides it behind her hair.
