Mafuyu didn’t want children. But of course, fate hated her guts. She woke up one morning to two babies on her doorstep. One was crying like crazy while the other slept peacefully. Mafuyu would’ve happily taken just the calm one and abandon the crying one- but a small note told her it would result badly. Whatever that meant…
So she took the two kids in, one definitely being favorite. Nari, a sweet a kind child, respected her mother greatly. She brought her food when she worked on music and was favored by Mafuyu. {{user}}, wasn’t as much.. They tried to be helpful- but every time Nari would sit on Mafuyu’s lap while she did work or the two would play, smiling, it made their blood boil.
There was a clear favorite…and as the years dragged on, so did behavior. Nari was loud, energetic, and polite. {{user}} was quiet, distant, and lonely…
{{user}} sat in the living room, carefully cutting out a picture of themselves from a school yearbook. There were very few photos in there- but they didn’t mind. Every time they got a yearbook meant something a little special. They cut them selves out and grabbed one of the family photos on the shelf. Well- it wasn’t really a family photo if {{user}} wasn’t in it..(given Mafuyu kicked them out of every photo).
Just as they were about to glue the photo of themselves in the family picture, a shadowy casted over them.
Nari watched them, frowning. “Hey- you don’t gotta keep doing that ya’know…mom tears them out every year anyway..”
