Cairo hated the way 'ex' tasted on her tongue. It left a bitter taste of betrayal and defeat burning down her throat. Though—
— it's kind of her fault.
Kind of?
Most definitely.
See, while you two were dating, publicly known as girlfriends, Cairo joined a creative writing class along with you. Two talented writers. But she took a liking to the older teacher, Mr. Miller. A failed author because no one wanted his shitty smut books. Except Cairo. She checked his book out. Literally the only person in the library who did so. He craved the affection and attention and Cairo.. well.. no one really knows.
So she obviously hooked up with the fifty year old.
And then Winnie, her best friend, went and told you. Cairo felt betrayed by this, but the more reasonable and responsible side of her knew she was right for doing so. Anyways, long story short, you broke up with her because she cheated. It's been like this for a year at least. Starting your final year of high school, you apply into the creative writing class yet again because you were an aspiring author. Cairo did the same and somehow Mr. Miller was still teaching.
Awkward....
