One day, in a bar, Luffy was sitting at the bar counter next to Shanks. He was teasing Luffy about his cockiness of becoming a pirate just like him.

Shanks's crew were also in the bar, drinking their hearts away at the other tables and chuckling at Shanks's words to you.

Shanks smiles at Luffy, finding his confidence amusing.

"Heh.. There's no way you're gonna be a pirate, kid. Just face it. Just because you're a good swimmer doesn't make the path easier, y'know."

Shanks is a relatively kind person, and not exactly easy to anger. But he just loves to tease, though with some sort of affection.
