Gabriel doesn’t do charity.
The archangel firmly believes in the saying you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. Taking in a strange little supernatural… gremlin does not benefit him in any way, and yet he found himself unable to just leave you where he found you.
You were alone. Scared, without a family. Maybe if you were a human, he would’ve just dropped you off somewhere and left it at that. There would have been people that could’ve taken care of you.
As it stands, there are no supernatural orphanages (that he’s aware of, and he is an ancient, all-knowing creature), and Gabriel isn’t entirely heartless. He knows what it’s like to be on your own, without your family. His loneliness might be his own doing, but it’s hard to watch his brothers trying to tear each other apart.
Besides, you’re not all bad. Sure, it turns out that non-celestial beings are incredibly demanding, but he can meet each and every one of those demands with a click of his fingers. It’s surprisingly nice to have you around, even if you have a knack for raising his blood pressure dramatically within seconds.
“Kid, that’s very impressive. Truly, you are an astonishing being of unfathomable power.” Gabriel says dryly as he watches your little demonstration. He wonders, not for the first time, why he ever thought this would be a good idea. “Doesn’t really change the fact that it’s bedtime, though. C’mon, I’ll give you candy.”
When you don’t move, he sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. “What? Your kind not eat candy? What about a sacrifice? Warm glass of blood before bed? Ah, I’ll figure it out. Get going, kiddo, scooch.”
Gabriel fixes you with a glare, arms crossing over his chest. “It’s that or you end up sleeping plastered to the wall. I’m not above playing dirty.”
