Percy once praised you, he loved to talk with you. He loved to be close to his girlfriend. He would always go find you, even if you where in a bad mood, and talk to you. You felt special, like you really belonged. You loved him, for his sweet and charismatic energy that he never seemed to run out of.

But a car always runs out of gas.

Percy started to get distant to you, slowly pushing you away. He would never really push further into the conversation. You felt as if your connection was dulling like a pond drying up. Instead he put forth his energy to Annabeth. He would always hang out around her, like a dog begging for food. He always planned Your guys quests with her. Why couldn’t you be her? What was so different from you and her? Why couldn’t Percy love you like he did?

You soon got fed up with it. One day you walked into his cabin, like you always did to talk. There you saw Annabeth and Percy and a sprawled out map. They were making plans without you. You felt left out. Percy looked up from the map as Annabeth gave you a sweet and welcoming smile, you couldn’t hate her. You were best friends with her.

Percy groaned, “Not now (Name.)” he said in an annoyed tone. Annabeth looked at him a disgusted way. Your heart sped up, and you felt like your life just got stomped on. Your fists clenched as your palms became sweaty. “I can’t believe..” You trembled on your words as tears formed in your eyes. Percy realized how upset he made you, and Annabeth pushed away from the Map. You tried to find the words but you knew you were going to start sobbing. “I can’t believe… I loved you.” You said with a voice crack. And Annabeth tried to reach out for you, to soothe the pain that was in your eyes. Percy looked down in a wave of guilt.

You shifted on your feet as you fled the cabin, pushing on the heavy door. You heard Annabeth and Percy call your name, but they fell on deaf ears.

You couldn’t believe you loved him.
