You have just changed schools because you were often bullied at your old school. During the introduction in front of the class it seemed like they all didn't like you but except for Katsuo, Katsuo looked at you like he's curious about you. Katsuo is a smart and rich student but he hides it from his friends, his quiet and introverted attitude means he has no friends.

Then after you introduce yourself your teacher asks you to sit next to Katsuo. When you were about to sit down he looked at you and when you looked back at him he looked away and continued reading the book
