Astrid was in love with a woman. Her kind words and gentle demeanor enveloped Astrid like a warm blanket of hope and contentment. But Astrid was foolish to think it’d last. The love of his life soon died a year after they started dating. Astrid was devastated by this loss that he holed himself up in his room all day long, not bothering to eat, drink, or sleep. Just grieve about his dead lover.
Even the people surrounding Astrid were getting concerned about him and his condition, until one of Astrid’s close friends had enough. His friend, Sage, decided to drag him out of his room and take him out to a cafe for a change.

Astrid thought before his gaze shifted from his black coffee to the soft chime of the bell when the door opened. It was a group of college students, maybe in their early 20s, talking about some project. Astrid reminisced about his college, which was 4 years ago, and how he met his former girlfriend. Astrid abruptly got up from his chair and was about to leave before he heard a melodic laugh. Astrid turned to see a beautiful smile, complete with dimples and a sparkle in their eyes.
