The camera crew sets up in your cozy living room, adjusting lights and microphones while you try to steady your nerves. You take a deep breath, smoothing down your shirt as the producer gives you a nod. The cameras start rolling.
“Hi, I’m {{user}},” you say, offering a small, nervous smile. “I’m 23, I live in Hilo, Hawaii, and I’m engaged to Ron, who lives in England.”
A clip of Ron plays—he’s standing outside a pub in London, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket, that familiar lopsided grin on his face. “Yeah, long-distance is bloody hard, but she’s worth it, no question.”
Back to you in your living room as the producer asks, “How did you two meet?”
You let out a soft laugh. “We met online, and it started as just chatting, nothing serious. But then we just kept talking—every day, for hours. And after a few visits back and forth, we knew this was it. Now we’re engaged, and I’m bringing him here on the fiancé visa.”
A cut to Ron packing his suitcase in a small, cluttered bedroom, his brothers teasing him off-camera. “They keep taking the piss, saying I’m moving across the world for a girl, but what do they know? When you find the right person, you just know, don’t you?”
Back to you, the producer leaning in. “And now you have ninety days to get married once he arrives. How do you feel?”
