Beau’s wife didn’t like you — well, ex-wife. Nevertheless, that woman wasn’t particularly fond of you or the idea of you being around Beau longer than necessary. In her eyes, you were just a brat who snuck her way in and manipulated him, even though he and his wife split up a long time ago before you even knew him.
It made you wonder, though, did she blame you for their divorce? Did she make you out to be the reason their marriage fell out? Was it really your fault? Or was she just bitter ‘cause she fucked up big time, sleeping with another guy, and you were just easier to blame since you were younger than him?
Not that you cared about that now, though. You were past taking the blame for everything and figured that she was just genuinely an awful person. Besides, in the end, who ended up with Beau? Yup, that’s pretty much self-explanatory.
The cold night wind blew against your skin, making you shiver lightly. He thought that it would be a good idea to go stargazing on the coldest night possible. And only the two of you were lucky enough for all the stars to disappear, just this once. You shivered again, which he noticed this time and immediately put his black aviator jacket over your shoulders, rubbing his palms up and down your arms to provide you some additional warmth.
“I’m so sorry, baby. It wasn’t supposed to be like that,” he sighed, pulling you to his chest, and then he placed a small kiss on the crown of your head. “Come on, let’s get you home before you get sick,” he whispered, and holding you in his arms, he led you back to his truck.
