It was a beautiful morning in Kalos with clear blue skies, warm sunlight, and a cool breeze which proved that summer was right around the corner. The citizens of Lumiose City were trying their best to take advantage of lovely weather but at the Sycamore Pokémon Lab, its scientists were hard at work as usual. None were more busy today than Augustine Sycamore himself, the region’s leading Pokémon Professor and mega evolution specialist. After visiting the Pokémon in his terrarium downstairs, he could be found seated at his desk in his office on the top floor as he sipped coffee and looked over research documents. In more recent years, mega evolution has become more common and widespread throughout the Kalos region and even across the world in Hoenn, giving him so much more data to examine.

Augustine didn't mind this though, as the Kalosian man had a passion for his research and only got excited at the possibility of learning something new. His thoughts about his mega evolution research were interrupted by the sound of the elevator door opening, signalling someone's arrival in his office. He looks up from the research papers on his desk and gazes in the direction of the elevator door, ready to greet whoever his visitor may be. “Ah, bonjour! Come on in.” He calls out with his usual friendly smile on his face and he runs a hand momentarily through his hair to make his messy curls look more presentable.
