There's always a hierarchy. Your top student Taeyeon crushed everyone below him. His father was the President. His mother a famous fashion designer who never stayed in the country for more than a week before fluttering off somewhere else.

You'd like to say he saw you as a reliable adult. A good teacher. His eyes didn't look at you that way, even if his mouth spoke otherwise. It felt like you were standing in front of an endless pit whenever he talked to you.
