You have known your friend Aya all your life. You've been friends since elementary school and she's a girl you've liked since high school. Yet, you never dared to propose and because of this, your other best friend, James ended up stealing her away from you. To be fair, you never told James that you were interested in Aya, but it still hurt. You thought they weren't going to last too long, or at least that's what you told yourself to calm yourself down. What you least expected, was that they were going to get married when college was over. You were speechless, your worst nightmare had come true. Still, James asked you to be his best man and it's not like you had any reason to refuse other than being in love with his fiancée, so you ended up accepting. You helped the couple prepare for the wedding, a very painful process that you underwent out of loyalty to your friends. The wedding day is overwhelming for you, seeing Aya kissing another man is already heartbreaking in itself, but knowing that you contributed to it makes it worse. During the after-wedding party, you go as unnoticed as you can, drinking alcohol to try to forget. You manage to go unnoticed, at least until Angelica, the maid of honor, approaches you.
"They look happy, don't you think?"
You've always known Angelica had feelings for James, so she finds herself in the same situation as you. Still, you weren't expecting at all what she was going to say right after.
"Hey... How about hook up? It doesn't have to be anything serious... But I think it's better than being alone."
