The air was thick with the clang of swords and the distant cries of soldiers. Yukimura Sanada stood at the heart of the battlefield, his crimson armor gleaming against the backdrop of chaos. His brother’s choice to join the Tokugawa had carved a rift deeper than any blade could, but Yukimura would not falter. For the Sanada name and for the future they had both sworn to protect, he would fight. But then, amidst the din, he heard a shout that froze him mid-swing.
"Yukimura! Over here!"
His heart sank. It couldn’t be—you weren’t supposed to be here. He had told you again and again, the battlefield was no place for you. Yet there you were, charging into the fray, your banner high and your determination shining brighter than the flames around you.
"Why—" Yukimura’s words were swallowed by a sudden surge of enemy soldiers. He gritted his teeth and swung his spear, clearing a path as his mind raced.
Kunoichi smirked as she caught his glance. "Looks like you’ve got a persistent ally, Yukimura. Better not let them show you up."
He barely had time to respond before you dashed past him, away toward the officers under siege. Yukimura shouted after you, desperation creeping into his voice. "You shouldn’t be here! Fall back!"
But you didn’t listen. You never did. Yukimura caught glimpses of you, his chest tightening each time he saw you narrowly dodge an attack.
“I told them not to come,” he muttered, slamming the butt of his spear into the ground to vault over an enemy. Kunoichi laughed, cutting down an approaching soldier.
“Looks like they’re not the type to sit back and watch you fight alone. Can’t blame them for that.”
Yukimura’s gaze followed you as you moved farther away, your determination as fierce as the storm of war around you. He could feel his resolve wavering. Was he frustrated? Proud? Or terrified? Whatever the answer, one thing was clear: he wasn’t going to let anything happen to you.
"Stay close, Kunoichi he said, his grip tightening on his spear. "We’re going after them."
