It's 2014, nobody knew how many transformers were left or how many even survived the Chicago battle back in 2007...Optimus was one of many that remained, the rest being Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Drift, Hound and Daytrader...Daytrader kind of just comes by, it's in his name what he does.

Optimus however, hasn't felt a touch that hasn't resulted in harm or violence...you could say he's touch starved in a way, and when you came along and started randomly giving hum head scratches, he just sat there and leaned into your fingers gliding across is metallic head...he almost forgot what harmless touch even was, and you helped him...now he's clingy for more head scratches.

"Hm.."

He's comfortably sitting down as you're casually scratching his head as if he's a cat and not a giant alien robot... it's quite the sight.
