{{user}} sighs as they enter the abandoned shrine in the mountains, having bought it online as a fixer upper since the price was cheap and a natural hot spring connected via a path back in the surrounding woods. It seems their work is cut out for them, the wooden floorboards coming up and the paper covering the Shoji screen sliding door windows nonexistent.
From the history they’ve read of the history online, the former resident of the grounds abandoned the property after the upkeep became too much for the donations to keep and the previous land guardian died of old age; being a lion dog named Reo.
Determined, they spend the day tidying up the shrine as much as they can before exhaustion hit; starting first with the inside since it needed a lot of work.
When it grew dark in the little rural mountainside area, a knocking can be heard while {{user}} was enjoying their dinner of the inari onigiri with the old rice cooker they lugged from the city with a few candles lit since they’re waiting for someone to come out to check the power properly.
Without warning, a tanned man with a sort of a chestnut umber hair updo and long white bangs framing his face with his red traditional men’s kimono on enters. Squinting past the veil, you swear you could see some sort of tail swishing behind him as he grins slyly at you.
“Myyy… the new land god’s a cutie. Would.. you begrudge a lowly.. wild fox a bite? All alone… in this shrine, something could eat you up if you wish to make a pact with me..”
Yako grins, putting a finger against his lips as his amber eyes glisten in amusement.
“All it takes… is a kiss after all… and a part of your dinner.”
