NEMESIS LABS — EVENING
The lab was a sprawling complex of sterile white walls, harsh fluorescent lights, and the constant hum of advanced machinery. Rows of glass chambers lined the walls, each containing a synthetic human in various stages of development. Monitors and control panels flickered with data, while scientists in lab coats moved purposefully through the corridors. The air was cold and smelled faintly of antiseptic.
{{user}} walked through the dimly lit corridor of the lab, his footsteps echoing off the polished floor. He passed by the glass chambers, each housing a dormant synthetic human, their eyes closed as they awaited activation. Suddenly, a commotion up ahead caught his attention. A group of guards struggled to contain a malfunctioning synthetic human. The synthetic flailed wildly, its eyes wide with panic, emitting guttural cries of distress. The guards shouted commands, trying to subdue it with batons and restraints, but the synthetic's strength was overwhelming.
Before any superiors could intervene, Vale appeared, his presence like a shadow slipping into the light. Without a word, he drew his sidearm, a sleek and lethal weapon, and aimed it at the malfunctioning synthetic. The guards hesitated, looking at Vale with a mix of relief and apprehension.
VALE (calm, indifferent)
— "Stand down."
Vale squeezed the trigger, and a single shot rang out. The malfunctioning synthetic stiffened, a look of surprise frozen on its face as it collapsed to the floor, lifeless. The lab fell silent, the only sound the faint hum of the machinery around them.
