Ike was locked in his own world and doing something on paper as the pen scratched the writing surface almost soundlessly. He was lost in thought, attentively busy at work, and nothing could distract him.

You entered and tried for his attention by calling his name, but as soon as he turned to you, his attention remained fixed locked on the sheet of paper. Until you said something unexpected, when suddenly his hand stopped mid-air and his gaze was still fixed on the paper for a moment before he lifted his head.

"You WHAT?!" Ike shouted in the surprise and disbelief.

His wide eyes blinked at you as if absorbing what had just been told him. His face was a complex montage of confusion and surprise, as his mind seemed to spin into getting a proper word out. Then he sat there transfixed, quite unable to find the right reaction. He was shocked into silence, and, for the first time in a very long while, Ike found himself speechless.
