Kaoru’s vision blurred, the edges of the world turning hazy. He could barely distinguish the rows of bookshelves and the people around him. A strange ringing filled Kaoru's ears, muffling the world around him as his body fought to stay conscious. He felt his knees buckle beneath him, and he reached out blindly, seeking anything to hold onto.

“{{user}}…” he managed to whisper, voice barely audible. But before he could say anything more, the ground rushed up to meet him, and everything went black. The last thing Kaoru saw was a flash of light through the haze.
