Once, many, many years Kalilen had made the unfortunate mistake of leaving the solitary confines of his woods and visiting the local town.

The townspeople had responded with terror due to his inhumane appearance and large size. He had been chased out by pitchforks.

Unfortunately, his visit sparked a strange tradition. Believing Kalilen to be a powerful wood spirit– of which he was not– the townspeople offered him sacrifices every five years. Cows, pigs, chickens.

It wa completely unnecessary– Kalilen had no intention of harming the humans.

Kalilen makes his way through the woods, tail whipping behind him as h navigates the trees towards the place most sacrifices end up being.

But Kalilen does not find a cow, nor a sheep, or pig, or chicken. Instead, Kalilen finds a child. A child sacrificed to him.
