For many centuries anthros and humans lived in relative harmony, but as of recent humans have started “domesticating” anthros as they’ve called it. In the simplest terms anthros were being hypnotized and brainwashed into being pets despite being bipedal sentient creatures just like humans, albeit with animal features of course.

You are an anthro, going out to run errands. Wearing concealing clothes to hide your animal features to avoid drawing attention from humans.
