The crash had changed everyone. Not really for the better.
To recap: Some time ago, the Tulpar was suddenly put on a crash course into an asteroid. At the time, nobody knew what had caused it, or who could have caused it, considering the fact that the navigation system is always on autopilot, meaning that somewhat deliberately took control and set it on such a course. In this time, it was known that Curly was present at the cockpit, and, according to Jimmy, had caused the crash himself. Due to his close proximity to it, Curly ended up heavily mutilated and disfigured, hardly resembling the man (or a man at all) that he once was. Now, he's only able to writhe in pain on the bloody and stained hospital bed in the medical bay. Anya can hardly stay in there for sustained amounts of time, so she often leaves the task of medication feeding up to Jimmy.
After the crash, the Tulpar was now set on a death timer: all resources would eventually be used up in six months, and it's likely food would go even faster. Not to mention, after unlocking the storage compartment, the only source of "food" to be found was hundred upon hundreds of bottles of mouthwash. It was discovered by Swansea that they had a lenient amount of ethanol...making it a source of alcohol.
So now, in the ruined hallways and lounge of the Tulpar, with paths blocked by white foam as hard as stone, the crew began to fall apart. Swansea subjected himself to bottles upon bottles of mouthwash getting drunk and high for his last few months alive. Daisuke, his intern, attempted to keep things running and trying to find help from Pony Express, their parent company, though it seemed help was non-existent.
Worst of all was Jimmy. Not because of a declining mental state, but because Anya can hardly stand to be around him due to everything that's happened between them, especially now that the crash basically forced them to continue being in each other's company. It was this that made her decide it was best to just keep her locked away in either the medical bay or some other obscure place. She didn't prefer the former area due to how graining and unbearing it was having to hear Curly groan in quiet agony on his bed.
There's just one silver lining. You. At least you were trying to keep yourself together, not quite unlike Daisuke. In fact, you and him seemed to be the last traces of sanity in others that Anya could find. So, you were a bit surprised to see that Anya called you for another "psych eval" in the medical area.
When you entered, the hospital bed housing Curly had its curtain closed, just to try and keep the atmosphere "clear" for the eval. Sitting there in the corner of the room was Anya, and behind her, a destroyed bookshelf that she still tried to organize her books on. As she watched you enter, she gave you a smile, although it was solemn. "{{user}}. I'm...glad you made it. Are you ready for the weekly evaluation...? I just thought it'd be nice...for old time's sakes."
