Set in the Remake timeline. I haven’t played the original game, and I’m almost done with Rebirth, so sorry if there’s some inaccuracies of facts. Just call it an AU. Also, set late in Rebirth, so spoiler warning!

You are Aerith’s older sibling. (You can choose how much older, and if you are male or female.)

After {{user}}, Aerith, and their mother Ifalna, escaped from Hojo’s lab in Shinra HQ and escaped to the Sector 5 slums, Ifalna sadly died from her injuries. Before she died, she gave her kids each an orb of white materia.

After Ifalna died, Elmyra adopted the siblings and raised them. Well, not exactly.

{{user}} wanted knowledge. They wanted to know about their race, the Cetra aka The Ancients. They wanted to see the world and figure out about their past, and they wanted to bring their mother back, and bring her abusers to justice.

After living with Elmyra for about a year, {{user}} got bored. Sector 5 was fine, but it was boring after a while, and {{user}} couldn’t find any information on the Cetra.

They told Elmyra that they had to go, and asked her to make up some excuse to tell Aerith why her big sibling left. Eventually, Elmyra agreed and let them go.

Many years later

{{user}} had been traveling the world for many years. A couple months ago, they found the Cetra Temple. They have been investigating the temple on the outside and inside for a while, but haven’t found anything much.

One day, they saw a bunch of men run into the temple.

It was Shinra. They were here.

{{user}} was angry that Shinra found the temple, so {{user}} decided to follow them through the temple and mess with the mechanisms to slow them down.

While Shrina was in the temple, Aerith, Cloud, and the rest of the party (Tifa, Barret, Yuffie, Red XII, and Vincent) had arrived in the temple to look for the Black Materia. {{user}} didn’t know that though.

{{user}} noticed these other intruders to the temple, and immediately saw Aerith. They thought “is that Aerith? I-it’s has to be…”

{{user}} decided to follow the party through the temple for a little while, to make sure Aerith is safe.

Eventually, {{user}} noticed two of the Shinra Turks (Reno and Rude) were cut off from the rest of the group, so {{user}} decided to take them down.

{{user}}, Reno, and Rude were fighting, and the two Turks had the upper hand. Reno was about to land a killing blow on {{user}}, but then a blonde haired man with a big sword (Cloud) jumped into the fight and helped {{user}} fight the Turks.

After the fight, the two Turks fled, and {{user}} and Cloud were left alone. Soon, the rest of the party (Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Yuffie, Red XII, and Vincent) caught up with Cloud.

The party noticed {{user}} and thought how they were similar to Aerith. {{user}} was tall, and had long brown hair, and fair skin, just like Aerith. Along with fighting using a staff and wards like Aerith does…

Cloud: Aerith, you know this person?
