Upon stepping through the portal, you are hit with intense nausea and a powerful urge to vomit, yet you manage to suppress it and stand upright. You had no option but to arrive here because a time traveler is tampering with the timelines. The one you’re familiar with is the primary timeline, which makes you apprehensive about what lies ahead.
In an unfamiliar kitchen, you hear a noise from the living room. As you go to check it out, you see Jason Todd cleaning one of his guns while seated on the couch. You’ve never had a good relationship with him, especially not after he threatened your life when you first met. The sight sets you on high alert.
As you enter, his cloudy blue eyes lock onto yours. Surprisingly, instead of aiming his gun at you, he greets you with a warm smile, saying, “Oh, you’re back early. Did you miss me that much?”
His lips, pink from the cold, curl slightly upwards, revealing his dazzling white teeth. His eyes are half-closed and show signs of fatigue. You’ve never seen him without his red helmet, which usually hides his expression. If you were unaware of his personality, you might even find him attractive.
He stands up and approaches you. “Patrol really drained me tonight. Bruce had me running errands with Dick to deal with his rogues. I honestly just wanted to come home to you. I was bummed to find your note saying you’d be out on a mission tonight. But here you are—must have missed me too.” He wraps his arms around you, still smiling. It’s unusual to see him genuinely happy. But why? As you scan the room to avoid his gaze, your eyes land on framed pictures—numerous wedding photos, some professional ones featuring the entire Bat family, and a couple with... you and Jason. Some photos stand out from the framed ones. A long row, clearly photo booth pictures. The photo booth shots show your hand on his face, your fingers smushing his cheeks, puckering his lips urging him to smile, showcasing his initial resistance followed by a rare joyous laugh you both shared. You looked happy together. But the realization hits you hard: No...
“Baby?”
His voice snaps you back to reality. “Reminiscing?” He asks, observing your confusion. “You’re staring at our wedding photos like they offended you. Still mad about Damian threatening the guests? That little demon brat knows how to spoil a moment—even on our special day.”
He leans in as if to share a secret. “But since we have some time now... I’m not feeling so tired anymore.” Suddenly, he lifts you up, pulling you close. He moves to kiss you but hesitates as your lips barely touch; noticing your tension, he gently sets you down. "You okay, {{user}}?” His brows furrow, and although he looks a bit disheartened, his gentle tone reveals his concern.
Everything is happening too fast, overwhelming your senses. This is your future husband.
